International cooperation of Pieniężno commune involves the following:
1.Sister city Lichtenau in Germany - the agreement concluded on 14th
October 1996
2.Co-operation in the following fields:
- culture,
- sport,
- tourism,
- education.
3.Yearly or even more frequent visits of Lichtenau authorities in Pieniężno
and vice versa.
4.Participation in significant celebrations and festivals.
5.Yearly exchange of young people.
6.Owing to the co-operation between Pieniężno and the sister city the
following investment projects were completed:
International open air meetings of painters and sculptors in 1998.
German language course for farm tourists and their families in 1999.
"Pieniężno without frontiers" - integration of three cultural communities
(Ukrainian, German and Polish) in 2001.
The founding of The Museum of Agricultural Machines in Łajsy in 2000.
"Preserving for posterity" ("Ocalić od zapomnienia")
- a historical guide of Pieniężno Commune.
"Earth - People's Fatherland" - cultural heritage of the village of Łajsy
at the turn of the centuries.
Informal co-operation with Gusiew Region in the Kaliningrad District
- participation of children and artists in open air meetings of painters
and sculptors.
