The Public library in Pieniężno was founded in 1949. The library consists of book lending room, reading room with a reference library, reading room equipped with the Internet and gallery, which are used by inhabitants of the city of Pieniężno and the commune.
The collection of books contains 22, 227.00 volumes. In 2004 the library was visited by 4 137 readers. For half of the century the library, apart from book lending function, has fulfilled an important role of a cultural institution by organizing events for readers, poetry contests, historical exhibitions, painting and sculpture exhibitions, conducting library classes for children and young people and being a co-organiser of international events.
